“ Here to Make a Difference

Law Offices of Charles Jerome Ware

In 1988, Charles Jerome Ware, Esq. opened a
private law practice in Howard County after
leaving government service with the Justice Department.

Ware has handled a number of high profile and
celebrity cases and has been a mentor to many
African American lawyers in the community.

In 1988 Ware represented a Howard County resident
and NAACP member who was the recipient of racially
derogatory telephone comments from a local resort
employee.  The incident sparked a widespread
outcry in the community and a proposed boycott
was averted by the implementation of sensitivity
training and increased hiring of minorities at the
   resort.

Many minorities and minority organizations frequently
patronize the resort today in a spirit of community.

Ware was formerly the General Counsel for the
statewide Maryland NAACP and was the youngest
U.S. Immigration Law Judge appointed by former
   President Jimmy Carter.

Ware was also the first African American Howard County
lawyer to file a class action lawsuit against a major
corporation in the 1980's and has lectured internationally
   on effective trial practices.

Ware currently practices law in Howard County,
   Maryland.
